Immigrant Detainees food assistance
On June 13, 2025, the Amadou Ly Foundation, along with a group of religious leaders and activists, traveled to Jena, Louisiana, to meet with detainees at the La Salle Detention Center. During this meeting, many of them complained about the torture inflicted by ICE, which deliberately deprived them of food. That same day, a riot broke out at the Delaney Hall detention center in New Jersey, sparked by the detainees' intentional starvation. Back in New York, the Amadou Ly Foundation decided to set up a program to send remittances to detained migrants across the country.
