Immigrant Detainees Commissary Fund
On June 13, 2025, the Amadou Ly Foundation joined a group of religious leaders and activists to visit the La Salle Detention Center in Jena, Louisiana. We learned that detainees are subjected to inhumane conditions, including insufficient food provision. The same tactic used by ICE caused a riot the same day at another ICE-run facility in New Jersey. The Amadou Ly Foundation decided to assist the detainees by providing food funds, enabling them to purchase additional food and contact their families.
